Data Analyst Overview

  • The Data Analyst role involves delivering financial, operational, and productivity analytics to support multiple departments within the organization.
  • Develop recurring and ad hoc reporting, analyzing key performance metrics to provide actionable insights on business trends and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to support strategic and operational initiatives, ensuring data-driven decision-making processes.
  • Enhance reporting tools, templates, databases, and visualizations to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in analytics.
  • Perform detailed quality control reviews to validate data integrity and ensure the accuracy of reports and presentations.
  • Work in a hybrid environment, combining remote and on-site work arrangements for flexibility and productivity.

Data Analyst Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and distribute recurring analytic reports, ensuring timely delivery and accuracy.
  • Analyze financial and operational metrics, including billings, collections, realization, inventory, productivity, utilization, and profitability trends.
  • Develop written analyses and executive summaries highlighting business trends and strategic opportunities.
  • Respond to requests by producing customized reports, data analyses, and business intelligence solutions.
  • Maintain and enhance reporting tools, templates, databases, and visualizations for improved analytics.
  • Perform quality control reviews to validate data integrity and ensure accuracy in reporting.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to support strategic and operational initiatives effectively.

Data Analyst Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in analytics, finance, business intelligence, or related analytical function.
  • Preferred experience within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for complex reporting and data analysis.
  • Experience with reporting tools, business intelligence platforms, and enterprise databases.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
