Welcome back to #WeAreGreenKey, where we shine a spotlight on our powerhouse recruiting team.

We met with Jack Staub, Business Development Manager on the Pharmaceutical National team. Having started in his first business development role a few years back, Jack is now a true asset to the Green Key team. He combines his experience, as well as his mentorship and growth opportunities, to develop his clientele and communicate with his team of recruiters daily.

Are there any hiring trends you’ve been noticing across Pharma clients recently?

Because of all the recent layoffs, clients are posting more jobs because there are so many good candidates out in the market right now. This is great for us, but it also means that for every ten great candidates, there is only one job. Another trend I’m noticing in Pharma is an increase in Talent Acquistion and Human Resources type roles. There is always going to be a demand for a specific type of skillset, so it’s all about adapting on both our side and the candidate’s side.

How have your business development skills strengthened over the years?

I started out in business development from the beginning and have been able to learn from two very different firms. My previous employer focused only on production numbers and calls. 2022 was my first full year at Green Key and it was incredible. I was able to take the mentality and skillset from my first employer but use the resources that makes Green Key so amazing. I was able to voice my opinions to the Partners and create my own approach. Business development takes a while to cultivate clients, but now that I have 3-4 years of experience, it’s all about leveraging relationships and aiming for referrals.

What methods or tools do you and your team use to stay organized and connected?

I always put the recruiters first and make myself a priority for them. If they ask me for something that is time sensitive, I make a promise to get back to them in a certain time frame. Other firms only celebrate the sales roles and I never want my recruiters to feel unappreciated or ignored in their roles.

What are your goals for the future, either with Green Key or personally?

After a great year in 2022, my short-team goal is to be the best possible co-worker and internal biller I can be. I want to build out a good book of business, so I can one day form a new team and truly focus on that development. Todd [Gabianelli] is a great example of having done this. He has put so much work into developing our team and passing off accounts; now he is an amazing and collaborative leader. Eventually I want to be in the same position.

Thank You To Receptionists For Everything You Do

We take time out today to recognize the work of those who answer the phones, who continue to staff front desks at medical facilities and essential businesses across the country and who are the face of our businesses to visitors and callers.

Today, National Receptionists Day, we say Thank You for all that you do.
