Job Description

Area Sales Director Overview

  • The Area Sales Director will lead sales efforts within a designated territory, driving revenue growth and mentoring sales teams to achieve exceptional results.
  • Responsible for achieving and exceeding seven-figure sales quotas through effective strategies and customer engagement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare providers, including dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and other specialists.
  • Utilize CRM tools to track sales opportunities, provide timely reports, and optimize pipeline management.
  • Represent the client at industry events, showcasing innovative products and services to potential customers.
  • Mentor and support Territory Sales Managers and Area Sales Managers to achieve record-breaking sales performance.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple processes and overcoming challenges with resilience and determination.
  • Leverage all available resources, including clinical specialists and reference sites, to achieve sales objectives.

Area Sales Director Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Meet or exceed sales quotas in the assigned territory through strategic planning and execution.
  • Recruit, mentor, and coach sales representatives to enhance their performance and achieve organizational goals.
  • Generate leads through cold calling and effectively move customers through the sales cycle.
  • Perform product demonstrations to showcase features and benefits to prospective clients.
  • Handle customer objections with professionalism and convert them into successful sales opportunities.
  • Collaborate with sales teams across territories to share best practices and achieve collective objectives.
  • Provide detailed reports on sales activities and pipeline status using CRM tools.

Area Sales Director Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience in sales or related fields.
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, ideally in medical or capital equipment sales.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas in a competitive environment.
  • Experience with CRM tools, particularly Salesforce, is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage with clients and team members.
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
